Delicious food and excellent services are available in the Reserve. The region is not as isolated as usually depicted and most places have free wi-fi. The area has Three banks, seven post-offices, many taxi servers, buses (small, medium and large) for hire. We have 20+ supermarkets and small food shops. Six petrol (gas) stations. Numerous hairdressers, beautician’s, cafe’s, restaurants, public houses, off license’s, car maintenance mechanics, Creche’s, playgrounds, a Police station, a large public library, craft shops, shoe shops, dress shops etc etc etc.

Kells is the main entry point into the Reserve if coming via the Killarney/Tralee N70 road route, showing stunning panoramic views across the Dingle Bay by day and at night and a huge expansive view of the sky.
Stunning by day – Sensational by night: is, without doubt, appropriate to this region.
The Kells area has a dark-sky quality comparable to the Core Zone with readings of up to 21.7 on the *SQML reader where the darkest reading is 22.
Distance from Killarney to the Kells entrance is 50 km. Reserve are: Kells, Caherciveen, Valentia Island, Portmagee, The Glen, Ballinskelligs, Waterville, Dromid & Caherdaniel.
