MASTERCLASS IN ASTRO-PHOTOGRAPHY

ASTRO-PHOTOGRAPHY BANNER

An Astro-photograpahy exhibition and lecture took place in Tech Amergin on Friday 31st October at 8.00 pm. Exhibition will was opened by Tom O’Donoghue who  also gave  a masterclass in the art of Astro-photography in Tech Amergin on Saturday 1st November 12-3pm. An extra night shoot option did happen up in Staigue fort. Cost of Workshop was: 30euro. Another follow-up class is planned for 2015.

Kells is the main entry point into the Reserve if coming via the Killarney/Tralee N70 road route, showing stunning panoramic views across the Dingle Bay by day and at night and a huge expansive view of the sky.
Stunning by day – Sensational by night: is, without doubt, appropriate to this region.
The Kells area has a dark-sky quality comparable to the Core Zone with readings of up to 21.7 on the *SQML reader where the darkest reading is 22.
Distance from Killarney to the Kells entrance is 50 km. Reserve are: Kells, Caherciveen, Valentia Island, Portmagee, The Glen, Ballinskelligs, Waterville, Dromid & Caherdaniel.

Map is set to mark out the entrance to the Kerry International Dark-Sky Reserve on the N70 main Ring of Kerry road route coming from Killarney, then passing through Killorglin and Glenbeigh. Distance from Killarney to Kells is 50 km.
The area's of the Reserve are: Kells, Caherciveen, Valentia Island, Portmagee, The Glen, Ballinskelligs, Waterville, Dromid & Caherdaniel.
